The Message (MSG)

11-15 Entering into this fullness is not something you figure out or achieve. It's not a matter of being circumcised or keeping a long list of laws.

No, you're already in—insiders—

Not through some secretive initiation rite but rather through what Christ has already gone through for you, destroying the power of sin.

If it's an initiation ritual you're after, you've already been through it by submitting to baptism.

Going under the water was a burial of your old life; coming up out of it was a resurrection, God raising you from the dead as he did Christ. When you were stuck in your old sin-dead life, you were incapable of responding to God.

God brought you alive—right along with Christ! Think of it!

All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ's cross.

He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets.

For those who know the love of Christ are filled with the fullness of God

We are filled with the fullness of God!

And for those who have this fullness have the power within to do more than we could ever imagine, the amplified says “SUPERABUNDANTLY’ far over and above all that we dare ask or think

Over the last year or so my wife (Kate) and I have had a real sense of how important are words are.

No matter where we are or what we are doing - do our words build up or knock down?

As someone who leads worship I feel I have a big responsibility when it comes to what I say.

If that is when I’m leading worship or chatting with friends.

We have noticed how easy it is to get caught up in conversations and how easy it is speak negatively

This quote from Mother Teresa has really spoke to me:

“Words which do not give the light of Christ

increase the darkness”.

Also “James 3” talks about the tongue:

9With it we bless the Lord and Father, and with it we curse men who were made in God's likeness!

10Out of the same mouth come forth blessing and cursing. These things, my brethren, ought not to be so.

Challenging eh?

"We Are Righteous" - Song Story

"We Are Righteous"
I wrote this song in Australia in January 2009 and we tweaked one line while recording the vocals. I was reading a book called Destined To Reign by Joseph Prince. The book just blew my mind! To read that we are the righteousness of God in Christ is an amazing thing, which I don't think had ever sunk in! Sometimes we try so hard to do all the right things and then we mess up and we plead with God, or sometimes we just feel we're not good enough. But we are! We are good enough because of Jesus, It's not about what I do or not do, it's all about what Jesus accomplished on the cross. The verse and chorus of the song are a declaration of who we are in Christ. Then the bridge lifts the song up a notch. For me the woah's at the end are a powerful shout that all the rubbish and all the nonsense that we believed about ourselves is coming off! We are righteous because of what Jesus accomplished upon the cross! It's truly amazing. Many of us need to know the awesome truth that we are righteous, that we are forgiven! We are completely loved and adored! My hope with this song is that it sets people free from the rubbish they have believed about themselves and helps them realise who they actually are.

With so much of today's modern worship music descending into unimaginative recreations of the last hit by Tim Hughes or Hillsong United, this profoundly satisfying record label debut by a Liverpool-based worship leader is a revelation. First off there is no hint of the husky-voiced singer trying to copy the vocal mannerisms of Smith and Redman; secondly, although the production allows for some serious guitar attack that is counter-pointed by effective cutaways to wistful keyboards and intriguing audio effects. But, as has been observed many times before, the primary focus of a worship album is neither the vocal performance nor the quality of the production but the power and tunefulness of the songs on offer. Here again Ian delivers. "Desperate" sees the singer intoning how he's "desperate to see your glory" in a memorable anthem; the soaring opener "Take My Life" (a modern revamp of the old Frances Havergal hymn); and the surging "Glorious Bride" would surely all work in a congregational setting. My favourite cuts are "Broken", which starts off as a depiction of broken humanity ("Children begging, children sold/Children abused from a few years old/Children working on a rubbish heap/Children empty, children weak") and ends in a powerful prayer ("We call forth justice/We call forth truth/We call forth peace upon our land"), and the epic-lengthed "We Are Righteous", which features a huskily-emotive vocal from Ian, stunning light and shade production from Trevor Michael and a preaching sample from the man who inspired the song, Joseph Prince. All in all, an epic album and congratulations should go to Ian, Trevor Michael and Kingsway Music's A&R man Adrian Thompson for giving a record label platform to a worship leader who doesn't have the big Bible Week connections or works at a major mega-church.

Ian Yates is someone we first heard of on MySpace year's back but never really payed much attention to his music. He's just released his album 'The Hope & The Glory' and we've been hearing great things about it. After listening to it we thought we'd share what we think with you.
The Hope And The Glory starts off with 'Take My Life' which is a guitar driven rock song that is definitely a song that would include a lot of crowd participation when sung live. The whole song is easy to pick up on. Even the verse's are quite simple and easy to learn. This song set's the tone for the album and for those of you who are new to Ian's music will automatically get a sense of his style from the first song.
'Desperate' is one of our favourite song's on the album. The vocals on the intro create a really nice feel for the song and we were happy to hear it (and variations of it) through-out the song. This song really drew us in as we listend to it and had us wondering how 'Desperate' we were to see God's Kingdom on the earth and how 'Desperate were are for God in our lives anyway. This song challenged us and how badly we wanted God in our lives and if we were really desperate for Him in our lives no matter what the cost is.
'Father Of Compassion' speaks of How God sent His Son to live and die for us. The lyrics really speak of Jesus coming to earth to save us through dying on the cross and washing our sin's away. It's a great song and it reminds us of God's love for us and remind's us of His fatherly love toward us that He has expressed to us in so many different ways.
'Glorious' start's off strong with BIG sounding guitars and a great drum beat. The way the different instruments come together to create one cohesive sound is nice and refreshing and the song flows really well.
'Great Is Your Power' is a song talking about how great God is. Musically it almost reminds us of 'Clocks' by Cold Play...Well, the introduction and the chorus'. This song shows us that Ian has truly experienced God in His life and that God has really shown him how great He is. You can't tell someone how great they are if you know nothing about them and have no experience with them. Anyone that's experienced how great our God is will relate to this song straight away.
'Broken' speaks about how the world is broken...Broken families, lives and just how society in general is broken. He focuses a lot on children so it seem's that child abuse/poverty etc are things that really grieve Ian and through his worship have birthed a passion in him too see a change and be a change.
Sometime's we can forget that even though when we worship, it's all about Jesus but it doesn't end there and that by being in His presence, His heart and His desire's should be impressed on our's. Worship isn't just about singing... It's a lifestyle, it's being Jesus' hands and feet on the earth.
'Carry Me' carry's on the theme of 'Broken' remind us that when things are broken; when things are hard we can run to God and He will carry us. It's so great to be reminded of this. It's funny that as Christian's we have so many promises from God saying He'll always be there, that He won't leave or forsake us and yet sometimes we can still be insecure about that. The song is driven by melodic guitars and a great use of dynamics which all allow the message of the song to come across.
'We Are Righteous' is a really different song to the rest of the songs on the album (musically). Didn't know what to expect from listening to the introduction. Through-out this song Ian reminds us that the only reason 'we are righteous' is because of Jesus and what He's done. It ends with a sample of a sermon which we thought was unique and different while being very effective.
When we saw the title of 'Crying Out we thought we knew what kind of song it would be... Well; it wasn't. Ian really stay's in touch with the theme of the album speaking of crying out for more of God's glory. We were kind of hoping for somethinga bit deeper on this song (soley based on the title). It would have been nice to possibly hear something a little deeper talking about a place of desperation where the only thing you can do is cry out... Maybe even something personal to Ian. With that said though, it's a great song and it's a great reminder that in the true presence of God, addict's can be set free, people can be healed and demon's have to leave.
'You Are Faithful' reminds us of the fiathfulness of God. Ian gives examples of different things that we've probably all experienced and reminds us that in all of that God is not only faithful, He's steadfast. Anyone going through anything or has been through anything will relate to this song and will sing it just as passionately as Ian because when you know that God is faithful... Well, it doesn't matter when people let you down because you're leaning on Jesus, the SOLID ROCK!!!!!!
'Here Is Love' is probably our favourite song for the music on this album. There's something about those sweet melodic guitar riff's that get's us all the time. This song almost has a hymn vibe with the way the lyrics the flow which interesting because of the way that is mixed with contemporary sounding music. This is a great way to end the album... What better way than to talk about the love of God!
Overall this is a great album. It's not the kind of album we'd normally rush out and buy. After listening to it though, we've grown to love it. There's a lot of strong messages in these song's and song's that really challenge our worship to be more than just adoration to God but actually having God's heart and doing what He desire's. It may no be the kind of album you play to dance a long too but it will challenge, inspire and engage you. Check it out, you may surprise yourself!

IAN YATES : The Hope and the Glory. (Survivor Records) Young Bootle-based worship leader Ian Yates started his musical journey back in the 1996 after hearing Delirious live in concert, inspiring him to start a band Seraphim which ended in 2004. His passion for worship still burned & he had an independent release in 2007 entitled "Desperate to see Your Glory", but it wasn't until 2008 when Ian's brother told him that Soul Survivor were looking for tracks for a new People's Album that a major label picked up on his talent. A couple of his tracks were picked, the A&R man met up with him & the rest is fast becoming history. Ian cites musical influences as Delirious & Matt Redman, but from listening to these tracks there's more than just a subtle hint of Kings of Leon plus even some U2 in the mix. The opening track "Take my Life" is a real prime example - a new take on a classic hymn with the chorus & intros being Kings of Leon slightly manic "Sex on Fire" drums overlaid with U2 'jangly' guitars reminiscent of "Beautiful Day" - a highly effective combo giving bucket loads of energy and bringing out the passion in the lyrics. Unlike a great many worship albums that seem to follow a "loud to start with then go quieter after 2/3 tracks so we can be more worshipful" formula, the energy continues aplenty until midway through the album when things do calm a little when we reach "Broken" where the lyrics pack as much of a punch as the drummer's kick! The band manages to keep the music very much alive in every track which lifts the words right up where they need to be, as they're so full of raw passion. Even the classics such as "Here is Love" get a new lease of life! It is so obvious that God has had a real impact on Ian's writing & there's no sense of performance through any of this whatsoever. It's also fantastic to see someone that isn't from one of the big churches well known for producing worship leaders to make it up to the front. I look forward to hearing much more from Ian in years to come - keep it up! 10/10 Simon Redfern

Survivor Records is proud to announce the debut album from a raw new talent, Ian Yates. And it’s not just the sound that’s fresh – Ian’s backstory is as authentic as they come.
The son of a Pentecostal minister of a church in Bootle, Liverpool, Ian has grown up used to the idea that Christians – and the churches they form – should be fully engaged with the communities that surround them. And the fact that the community which surrounds Bootle Elim Pentecostal Church has experienced some of the highest levels of unemployment in the UK means that Ian has seen at first hand just how much of an impact the church can make.
But what does this matter to a collection of eleven tracks from a first time artist? It matters because that first time artist has turned out eleven tracks that are so full of truth and life and honesty and a cry for God that can only come out of experience. The Hope And The Glory may have been recorded in a studio, but it was written on the streets.
From the brooding atmospherics of ‘Broken’ and ‘Carry Me’ to the passion of ‘Desperate’ and ‘Crying Out’ Ian’s songs have that unique quality of being instantly familiar and appealing even at the first listen. Think Hillsong United and Kings of Leon after a two-week missions trip.
The Hope And The Glory grew out of a fairly unlikely beginning. Two years ago Ian’s brother prompted him to submit some of his home-grown, home-sung songs for a forthcoming Soul Survivor People’s Album. Ian did and the response was about as good as it could have been: two tracks made it onto the album - ‘Desperate To See Your Glory’ and ‘No One Like You’.
After that Ian’s song ‘Father Of Compassion’ was then featured on the Survivor Summer Sampler as a bonus track, and a mini album started to form in the minds of Ian and Survivor Records A&R Adrian Thompson:
“When I first met Ian I saw a deep and rare combination - a deep yearning after God’s inner dwelling, a young life that had experienced and witnessed hardships beyond his years and a massive understanding of the spiritual impact of worship. Ian lives and worships in one of the UK’s most depressed areas, so when he worships with a cry for God to break through and his heart for worship it really is ‘rubber hitting the road’. An honest and raw worshipper.”
Working with producer Trevor Michael, that mini album grew into a fully-grown affair – fully-grown with degrees of both maturity and passion that are rare finds in debut albums these days.

Jan has been a really cool month and a great start to 2010.
I Was involved in some great events including LNS @ city church, Big Push and YFC event in Warrington.
I also played at a cool golf course (see photos) - it was a small setting but a really great time of worship.

New songs for Jan
This month I’ve been using 3 new songs:
Revelation Song - I’ve known this song for a while, but I heard the Jesus Culture version and the “Philips, Craig & Dean” version and thought we need to use this song
In Your Presence (Chorus) - a friend of mine posted a video on facebook of Stevie Wonder singing this. It’s by Jason Upton and it’s a really simple and powerful chorus. Check it out
Your Love Never Fails by Chris McClarney - I did some co-leading with a very good friend of mine Phil Wilkes and he used this song. I feel it’s a real now song. It was also free song of the month @ www.kingsway.co.uk

The album is due out in May and I can’t wait for it come out!

2009 - Brainstorm

2009 has been an awesome year! (Probably my best yet) – This is my brainstorm of what I’ve been learning, doing, seeing and living in 2009

• A Year of seeing my dreams start to happen
• A year of increase (work, finance, gifting, church, family)
• Learning I am the righteousness of God in Christ
• Learning to Trust and keep trusting in God– no matter what we face He will get us through
• Knowing that He is always faithful!
• Becoming Broken – an increase in compassion, an increase to see justice
• The start of knowing that: We (the church) are the answer – We are the difference – We are the breakthrough
• Knowing the grace of God (blows my mind everyday) – It’s unending, It’s outrageous
• Learning to rest in God’s timing (His is not like ours)
• Learning about and receiving Favour (I am lavished with unmerited favour) I am highly favoured because I am a child of God
• Learning and beginning to know that the same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in me
• Learning To see myself through Gods eyes
• Learning It’s so not about me
• Learning that God using me has nothing to do with me, it has everything to do with Him,
• Learning to rest in His finished work, Rest in what He accomplished at the cross, Rest completely in Him
• Seeing our church move to the next level
• Learning that I am to comfortable
• Seeing God do new and amazing things: Seeing lives changed, impacted, healed and restored

Just had a great weekend!
Saturday night was with my good friend Enzo Calamita at his partnership event at a rather nice suite looking unto the pitch at Bolton’s football ground.
Sunday was an action packed day as we had are first meeting in a new hall at church. We had an awesome morning! – We’ve been looking for a building for quite a few years with no joy. But we’re hiring out a hall right next door to our church building, which has worked out well! Change is always challenging! but this is a good one! – we now have room for expansion! Exciting times! – In the evening our church we’re invited to lead a meeting at Hope Baptist church for there churches together event! – Again this was a great night and the congregations singing sounded great! – we talked about the revival that hit Bootle 75 years ago and how we’re digging up the old wells, and how we can and we want to see this again! –
This week I go down to Eastbourne again to finish of the album before it gets mixed. So it’s all exciting!

Updating the Blog

Recording the album: We finished all the guitars and vocals on the 24th July
Twas another great week!!!
Recording backing vocals and the mixing will take place in September.
The whole process has been amazing and I can’t wait for folk to hear the tracks.
I’ll hopefully post another a little video soon of some of the sessions

DAY 9:

2nd day of the wk
guitars and vocals (it’s gonna be guitar and vocals all week)
again loads of fun! ‘we are righteous’ is sounding amazing!
we recorded the vocals for a song called ‘broken’ today, I think this is going to be a powerful song!
I'm really lovin the whole process!- my main hope is that the holy spirit is all over these songs

had a great dinner with Adrian, JB and Trev, we had a fab curry (I fink curry is becoming the meal of this recording)

I’m proper excited about the songs and the recording.
My hope is that these songs would touch peoples lives, set free the addicts, the captives, break the chains that hold people back and that people would realize who they are in christ and know that the same power that raised christ from the dead is within them!

DAY 8:

worked on guitars and vocals - been loads of fun, trev has created some fantastic guitar sounds, we have an awesome whammy bar effect solo on ‘crying out’
the songs are sounding immense! - can’t wait for the world to hear them

DAY 7: recording bass

Was great to meet up with Adrian and Les for breakfast and then went to Trev’s
We had the fabulous Mark Prentice playing bass, this was awesome, Mark got all 10 tracks done, and his bass part for “glorious bride” is exceptionally impressive, bass players will really love it!
the songs are really taking shape!
Had a late long drive back to Liverpool in the rain, but so worth it!

Back to life, back to reality!

Well I’m home now after an awesome week recording. Checkout the videos below
So far we have all the tracks arranged and we have all the drums down, Mr Tim Cooke has done a fantastic job! We worked him very hard!
I’m back down for a day when we record bass with Mark prentice and then down for another week to get all the vocals, guitars and effects done.
Everything has gone really, really well! – I’m sooooo excited about how its gonna turn out and how this album will impact peoples lives!
It's been 5 awesome days, defo one of the best weeks of my life! - Shared @ church on sunday and everyone is really excited!

Today has been amazing! - the songs are coming alive! - Mr Tim Cooke was drumming! - He is a genius! - we’ve worked him hard today! managed to get 6 songs tracked and have enough time for a curry (is there pattern emerging here)
Again it’s been so much fun, Tim said I’m walking around with big cheesy grin. That’s cause I’m seeing the desires and promises God gave me 12 years ago coming to fruition.
I’m constantly feeling emotional and in awe of God.
He completely love’s his children and he wants us to fly.
The journey to get here has sometimes been really, really hard, there has been some dark valleys and I’m sure there will be more to come! But Our God is faithful! He is steadfast! He is with us! He is for us!
I’m having so much fun! - It’s gonna be amazing when the albums finished!

Tracked guitars for 2 of the demos from scratch, was fun,
I’ve always been a les paul man, but I was using a fender tele quite a bit today! (sorry Lee, but it sounds great) - I may be converting
Got down some vocals for a few tracks, this was really good fun, it was V warm
I have to say I’ve had an amazing so far. It’s been fab working with Trev! He is a great guy!
enjoying every minute!
I’m constantly thanking God for this opportunity! - Our God is so faithful!

Another hot day in sunny Eastbourne!
Listened through the demo arrangements, for the 7 songs, changed a few little parts. started work on the 3 demos from scratch (inc a new version of ‘desperate’), working out arrangement and ideas. added some dodgy guide vocals.
Finished the evening with a curry with Trev and his wife Rach.

Day 1 has been fab! - gone really well!

Working with Trev has been really really good! we have loads of the same ideas.
We also have a few epic ones up our sleeves which I'm excited about.

I'm currently really excited!
Next week I start recording the new album, the new album is being produced by Trevor Michael (www.trevormichael.co.uk) Trev has worked with loads of great people, produced tons of great albums and traveled the world with delirious. He is a top bloke! This is my first album with survivor records. which also very exciting! -
I'm so grateful to God for the opportunity, This has been a dream for about 12 years now
God has been so faithful, his grace has been superabounding and his mercy has been new everyday! And this is only just the beginning!!!
I'll try and keep regular posts and pictures on the site!

Just got back from a top time @ Elim conference
I had the privilege of being part of a fantastic worship team and made 12 great new friends!
Before conference we had Steve Long from Toronto @ church which was another amazing night and then I was @ the Big push conference with Dr Sharon Stone! Again another great time! So all is well!
Also got the dates for recording the next CD, I’ll keep you updated!

GEORGE WHITFIELD

Cool thoughts:
I was at a conference today with my good friend Enzo, he briefly mentioned about George Whitfield preaching to crowds of 20000+ in 1740’s - 1770’s.
I thought I‘d do a little research and found he preached to 20,000+ potentially 30,000 in 1742. amazing cuz i don’t reckon they had P.A in them days. I thought that was so amazing!
I found this as well:
Benjamin Franklin once attended a revival meeting in Philadelphia and was greatly impressed with Whitefield's ability to deliver a message to such a large audience. Franklin had dismissed reports of Whitefield preaching to crowds of the order of tens of thousands in England as exaggeration. When listening to Whitefield preaching from the Philadelphia court house, Franklin walked away towards his shop in Market Street until he could no longer hear Whitefield distinctly. He then estimated his distance from Whitefield and calculated the area of a semi-circle centred on Whitefield. Allowing two square feet per person he realized that Whitefield really could be heard by tens of thousands of people in the open air.

I went to the see THE FRAY on Saturday!
Faultless performance. The band were fantastic, but the crowd we're a bit pants, talking all the way through the more slow intimate songs.
For all you bands out there, even the fray have people talking very loudly at the gig!

Things have been busy in April: I wanted to blog about each event but didn't get round to it, but here is a brief bit of info

was involved in some great events including Costa coffee in Lancaster with the youth from fathers house church, had a really great night, thanks to mark and Nicola for asking me to come along, also had a training day with my mate Enzo (www.parakletos.co.uk) check out his website, and I was also involved the toolkit event in Liverpool, which was a training day for youth and children workers. This was a great day for resourcing the church and went really well!
Also had a great time at church
I have recently been using "when i survey" the good old hymn. Tim Hughes has done a great version on his new album. We've started doing a similar version just in a different key, the words are fantastic:

St Georges Day

I thought I’d do a little search on good old St George, I found the info below in Wikipedia,

In the year AD 302, Diocletian (influenced by Galerius) issued an edict that every Christian soldier in the army should be arrested and every other soldier should offer a sacrifice to the Pagan gods. But George objected and with the courage of his faith approached the Emperor and ruler. Diocletian was upset, not wanting to lose his best Tribune and the son of his best official, Geronzio. George loudly renounced the Emperor's edict, and in front of his fellow soldiers and Tribunes he claimed himself to be a Christian and declared his worship of Jesus Christ. Diocletian attempted to convert George, even offering gifts of land, money and slaves if he made a sacrifice to the Pagan gods. The Emperor made many offers, but George never accepted.
Recognizing the futility of his efforts, Diocletian was left with no choice but to have him executed for his refusal. Before the execution George gave his wealth to the poor and prepared himself. After various torture sessions, including laceration on a wheel of swords in which he was resuscitated three times, George was executed by decapitation before Nicomedia's city wall, on April 23, 303. A witness of his suffering convinced Empress Alexandra and Athanasius, a pagan priest, to become Christians as well, and so they joined George in martyrdom.

NEW SONG: We are righteous (Demo)

Hey!

I’ve uploaded a rough demo version of a new song “We are righteous” to my worship journal profile and MySpace (SEE LINKS ON RIGHT)

I’ve been using this song a lot @ church and at some of the events I’ve been leading at

I wrote this song in Australia in Jan this year. I was reading an awesome book by Joseph Prince called “designed to reign” at the time.

For me I’ve always known that God loved me and in the last few years I’ve really been getting to know who I am in Christ. After reading this awesome teaching it took this to another level for me.

I really felt that we need to sing these truths over ourselves.

We need to declare the awesome truth that we are righteous.

In the natural most of us are far from righteous but through what Jesus done at the cross God sees us righteous! There is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. I think a lot of the time we don’t realise who we are. We are forever blessed, we are chosen, accepted, forgiven we are designed to reign. Satan doesn’t want us to believe these awesome truths because he knows when we fully believe them and start living in this we will become unstoppable

The other thing I feel we need to believe is that it’s not about what we do. If it is we fail miserably but it’s all about what Jesus has done! He paid the debt! He paid it ALL! He who knew no sin became sin, He became our Substitute, our Advocate, he took ALL our punishment. I’m still trying to get this to sink in fully, in truth the good news is SO GOOD! So good that I think we sometimes think it’s too good to be true! But the truth is that Jesus paid it all in full!

A top weekend and Radio

All is well!
Had a great Easter weekend!
Sunday morning was awesome at church! V powerful!
Then in the afternoon I went to 7 waves 92.1FM radio station (not flame, as the previous blog says)
As you can tell I didn't really know much about it all. I ended up on the cafe Sunday live show from 5-7 with Chris Youngman. My mate Ian came along for support only to be asked to share his testimony and share his thoughts on a few things. We we're joined by another guy called Chris from whitchurch who had a similar story to Ian. The show was really great! We all felt that is was defo a God thing. I played a couple of new songs live "Carry me" and " We are Righteous" (may do a blog on this song soon) and they also played "Father of Compassion" I tried to answer the questions, some better than others! Ian and Chris shared about there lives and how God had freed them from various things and how God is the God of 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th etc chances!
We came away buzzing! The whole show fitted together!
Hopefully I'll be going back to play a few songs again!
We have no idea how it came across on the radio, but we had a good time in the studio.

Monday was mostly spent in Wales with Kate her bro Josh and finished up watching the pursuit of happyness! Top film!

I have to admit I do prefer to lead and play contemporary praise and worship songs but I do love the old hymns aswell!
I've been using here is love alot recently
I used this over the weekend at church and at the big push.
I think most folk know the hymn and the first 2 verses. But there are another 2 verses.
The one I’ve been using is:

Let us all his love accepting,
Love him, ever all our days;
Let us seek his kingdom only
And our lives be to his praise;
He alone shall be our glory,
Nothing in the world we see.
For he has cleansed and sanctified us
He himself has set us free.

I love these words! Truly awesome!

The hymn was written by a chap called William Rees 1802-1883 – they think this verse was written by him, but there not sure

A little bit of info below about Mr Rees:
Born: November 8, 1802, in a farmhouse called Chwibren Isaf, at the foot of Mynydd Hiraethog, Llansannan Parish, Denbighshire, Wales.
Died: November 8, 1883, Chester, England.
Buried: In the family plot, Smithdown Road Cemetery, Toxteth, Liverpool, England.
He was known as a preacher, a lecturer, a poet, novelist, astronomer and political thinker, and he also pastored in Liverpool for over 30 years.
This is the only hymn I can find written by this chap! And wow what a hymn.

Feb news:

Kate and I got back from Aus @ the end of Jan, we had an awesome time
we got back in the swing of things and then Feb started.

Feb was good month event wise, one of the highlights was @ the big push, and the presence of God was immense!
We had a powerful time, I really felt we broke through as well, we we're singing the old hymn turn your eyes upon Jesus, prophetically to the city, you could feel the atmosphere!
I also heard about one of the pastors seeing angels in the worship which is awesome!
The next event is the 22nd March
also led worship @ LNS @ City church which was great and led worship @ a healing rooms event with pastor Clive Cawfield speaking, was another awesome day
